Salesforce.com cutting of long text fields and COPY formula (version 3.2.88f)

By Michael Bock, Founder & CEO - January 08, 2014

Salesforce.com

We have added a new feature that automatically cuts of text fields that are too long for the destination field in Salesforce.com. Before when trying to update or insert a record in SFDC containing a text field that was too long, an error message would be returned.

Now we automatically cuts of Text fields that are too long for the destination SFDC Field. This works both for normal text and for unicode texts. The feature is disabled by default and can be enabled in the central cfg file for your service, using SForceCutOffTextFields : 1

Please ask our support to do this if needed.

COPY and LENGTH Formulas

The Copy and Length formulas now operate on unicode fields so that they count unicode characters rather than bytes. This makes these formulas operate as expected on unicode fields.
