Transport and Logistics Data Integration

Transport and logistics companies sell in one system and invoice from another. Rapidi keeps the CRM your sales team uses and the ERP that holds orders and invoices in step, so the people talking to customers see what was actually bought.

Why transport and logistics companies struggle with integration

The same problems turn up in most transport and logistics businesses we are called into.

  • Sales works in the CRM while orders, contracts and invoices sit in the ERP.
  • Sales staff hunt for a customer's order history across two different screens.
  • Giving the sales team web access to the ERP adds another interface, not an answer.
  • A one-off integration built by a vendor may have to be paid for again after a major system update.
  • Depots, countries or legal entities each keep their own database, and the group has no single view.

Each one slows the sales team down, in a business where customers expect current data.

Why transport and logistics companies choose Rapidi

  • Decades on these systems. Rapidi has connected Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce since long before either was in the cloud.
  • No code. Transfers are configured on screen, so an integration does not become a development project.
  • Built for multi-entity groups. Several companies or databases can run on one setup rather than one integration each.
  • On-premise reachable. An ERP inside your own network is connected without opening inbound ports.
  • Older ERP versions included. Dynamics NAV back to the early Navision releases connects, not only the current products.
  • Transparent cost. Published pricing, so the budget does not depend on a scoping exercise.
  • Support from people who know both systems. An in-house team, not a ticket queue.

What you get out of it

Order history in the CRM

Sales history from the ERP reaches the people talking to customers.

Less manual work

Transfers run on their own, so nobody re-types an order that already exists in another system.

One version of the order

Quotes, orders, invoices and payments line up between the CRM and the ERP.

Every entity in one place

Countries and legal entities report into the same picture instead of a spreadsheet each.

Lower build cost

Pre-built templates instead of a bespoke interface written and maintained for you.

Room to grow

Add a site, a company or a system when the group changes, without starting again.

How Rapidi connects your transport and logistics systems

Ready-made templates on a secure cloud platform, joining the systems that sell and invoice.

ERP and finance

Dynamics 365 Business Central, Finance and Operations, NAV, GP, C5 and Oracle NetSuite. Almost any other ERP, such as SAP or Syspro, connects through the generic interfaces.

CRM and sales

Salesforce, Dynamics 365 Sales and HubSpot, so the sales side sees orders and invoice history.

Databases and reporting

Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB2 and Google BigQuery, for the reporting layer you already use.

Three steps, no developer

  1. Connect. Choose the systems you want to integrate.
  2. Configure. Set up the transfers on screen, field by field.
  3. Sync. Data moves automatically, in real time or on the schedule you set.

What that looks like in practice

idem telematics builds telematics systems for transport and logistics companies, with gateways in around 50,000 trailers. Its sales team worked in Salesforce while the business ran on Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and data silos held the team back. Web access to NAV did not help, and a one-time vendor integration would probably have to be paid for again after a major update. Rapidi connected Salesforce to Dynamics NAV in about two weeks, and the sales team can now tell a customer the status of a system being integrated at the factory.

Frequently asked questions

Which ERP systems can Rapidi connect for a transport or logistics company?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Finance and Operations, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics GP, Dynamics C5 and Oracle NetSuite all have their own connector. Rapidi is flexible enough to integrate Salesforce with almost any other ERP, such as SAP or Syspro, through the REST, OData and ODBC interfaces.

Can Rapidi reach an ERP that runs on our own servers?

Yes. The RapidiConnector sits inside your network and uses one outbound port, with no fixed IP addresses and no inbound ports to open. Traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or 1.3.

We still run an old Dynamics NAV. Is that a problem?

No. Rapidi connects Dynamics NAV from the early Navision releases through NAV 2018, as well as Business Central. Older versions connect through C/Front, later ones through SQL and Web Services.

How often does the data move?

In real time when a record changes, or on a schedule you set per object: daily, hourly, every 10 minutes, every minute or triggered, depending on the subscription plan. Orders can move as they are raised while customer data syncs overnight.

Can one setup cover several countries or legal entities?

Yes. Rapidi is built for groups that run several companies or databases, so the same configuration can serve more than one entity rather than needing an integration per site.
