Salesforce-Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Integration
Direct integration between Salesforce and Dynamics 365 Finance, so sales and finance work from the same customers, orders and invoices. Configured on screen, not written in code, and supported by the people who built it.
Automate the order to cash process
Connect Salesforce with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance to move orders, keep customer accounts aligned, and send finance data back to the CRM. Customers, contacts, products, prices, orders, invoices and payments are in the standard template, across one legal entity or several.
Send orders to Dynamics 365 Finance
An opportunity won in Salesforce becomes a sales order in Dynamics 365 Finance, and the Finance order number is written back to the opportunity. No re-keying in either system.
Keep customer accounts in step
Accounts and contacts sync in the direction your process needs, one way or both, so sales and finance stop arguing about who updates which system.
Return invoice and payment status
Posted invoices, credit memos and customer transactions come back to the Salesforce account, so it shows payment patterns and overdue amounts.
What you can integrate
These objects are mapped in the standard template. Any table can be integrated in any direction.

Get the template
You start from the template built for this pair rather than a blank canvas. Point Rapidi at your Salesforce org and your Dynamics 365 Finance environment, then map the fields your business actually uses on screen. The template handles several legal entities and currencies from the start, and you switch off the parts you do not need.
Integration features
Built for one pair of systems rather than assembled from a toolkit, and specified so a technical buyer can qualify it before the first call.
Pre-built pair template
A template built for Salesforce and Dynamics 365 Finance specifically, not a generic connector you assemble yourself. Customers, contacts, items, prices, sales orders, posted invoices, payments and attachments are mapped before you start.
Per-object timing
A schedule you set, chosen object by object: daily, hourly, every 10 minutes, every minute or triggered, depending on your subscription. Orders can move every few minutes while the product catalogue syncs overnight.
Reads and writes over OData
Rapidi reads Dynamics 365 Finance and writes to it over OData, inserting and updating records, and can also read over SQL. Data moves both ways rather than one system dictating to the other.
Failed transfer reporting
When a transfer fails, for example on invalid source data or a dropped connection, Rapidi logs the error and emails you the message with a direct link to it. You find out from the log, not from a customer.
Reaches systems inside your network
Dynamics 365 Finance in the cloud connects directly over OData. For an on-premise or Azure installation you control, the RapidiConnector sits inside your network, so Finance is never opened to the internet.
Access through your own Azure app
Rapidi signs in to Dynamics 365 Finance with OAuth2 through an app you register in your own Azure Active Directory, with admin consent and a client secret you control and can withdraw.
Built for multi-company Finance
Dynamics 365 Finance runs legal entities and currencies side by side, and the standard template does too.
- The standard template supports several Finance companies and several currencies from the start. If you run one company, that part is removed.
- Rapidi uses one connection per Finance company and sets the company on every request itself, so nobody has to manage the company code by hand.
- A Legal Entity picklist on the Salesforce account decides which Finance company a customer belongs to, and contacts and opportunities inherit it.
- No extra fields are needed in Dynamics 365 Finance. The pairing between records is held in Rapidi's link storage.
- Publish the timestamp field on the data entities you integrate, so only new and changed records move.
The eight most common integrations
The transfers most Salesforce and Dynamics 365 Finance customers start with, and why each one earns its place.
1. Account to Customer
An order has to be linked to a customer before it can be processed, and the account usually starts life as a lead in Salesforce. The usual direction is Salesforce to Dynamics 365 Finance, and it can run both ways so sales and finance both maintain the record.
2. Contact to Contact person
Contacts are master data and the hardest to keep clean, because people change role, employer and name. The rule to work by: never transfer data you do not implicitly trust.
3. Product to Product
If quotes are built in Salesforce, product data has to be there. The two systems label fields differently, so the mapping needs someone who knows both, and it runs one way or both depending on where new products are created.
4. Item price to product price
The two systems price and discount differently. Dynamics 365 Finance pricing and discount models are converted into Salesforce price books, often including the currency dimension. Once the method is in place it is reusable.
5. Opportunity to Sales order
The won opportunity becomes a sales order in Dynamics 365 Finance automatically, and the order number comes back to Salesforce. Sales then works only in Salesforce, so you do not licence them in both systems.
6. Sales order to sales order
The order syncs back so the account and opportunity show the full picture, and keeps syncing through order changes, part delivery, part invoicing and product substitutions.
7. Sales history
Posted sales invoices and credit memos move from Dynamics 365 Finance to Salesforce. An invoice has a header and lines, so this is several tables. Sales history is what the Salesforce AI features use for predictive work.
8. Payments
Customer transactions complete the order to cash loop and surface payment patterns and overdue amounts on the account. Useful to sales, useful to cash collection, and useful as a negotiation parameter.
Quick facts about the solution
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Data transfer | Data is SSL encrypted, packed and compressed by the RapidiConnector. |
| Salesforce API and access | Rapidi is Salesforce certified, which lets you integrate Salesforce Pro Suite without buying Salesforce API access. |
| Dynamics 365 Finance API and access | Web Services for write, SQL Client for read, OData for read and write. |
| Security | Encryption follows the current TLS standards, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 preferred. |
| IP address and firewall | No fixed IP addresses, and no inbound ports opened on your firewall. |
| RapidiConnector | Connects an on-premise Dynamics 365 Finance with your Rapidi service, then compresses, packs and SSL encrypts the data. |
| Read design | One click reads the database design, so every table and field is available for mapping. |
| StoreNewID | Writes the key one system assigns back to the record in the other, so the pair stays linked. |
| New or modified data only | Changes only where tables carry timestamps, and Mirror where they do not, so only new and changed data moves. |
| Transfer frequency | Daily, hourly, 10 minutes, 1 minute, or triggered, depending on subscription level. |
| Advanced data toolbox | Excel-syntax formulas to align formats and field structures. Ready-made formulas ship in the standard templates. |
| Log and notification | Rapidi records detailed information about every schedule and transfer, and no customer data. |
| AI agent | Albert, the Rapidi AI agent, assists with your integration setup and can perform tasks on it. |

Security and deployment
Your systems are never exposed to the outside world.
- Dynamics 365 Finance in the cloud connects directly over OData. On-premise Finance, or an Azure instance you control, goes through the RapidiConnector, which sits inside your network and compresses, packs and encrypts data before it leaves.
- Encryption follows the current TLS standards, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 preferred. You can use your own SSL certificate.
- One outbound port. No fixed IP addresses, and no inbound ports opened on your firewall.
- Data is processed end point to end point in memory. No customer data is stored on any Rapidi server, and configuration data is stored encrypted.
- Rapidi monitors your setup and contacts you when a server stops responding or invalid data is being exchanged.
- The connector protocol strips metadata and sends compressed binary, cutting data volume by up to a factor of 50: roughly 20 bytes per customer record instead of 1000.

Dynamics 365 Finance data inside Salesforce
The Rapidi Sales History App puts posted invoices, credit memos, open sales orders and customer ledger entries from Dynamics 365 Finance on the Salesforce account, so your sales people work with customer, product and financial insight without leaving the CRM.
The app is unmanaged, so you can customise it, and the history can be linked to other objects such as the opportunity. Roll-up summary fields calculate totals like sales this financial year without running a report.

Frequently asked questions
Which Salesforce editions and Dynamics 365 Finance versions does the integration support?
Salesforce Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Enterprise, Unlimited and Einstein 1. On the Finance side, all versions and releases, plus earlier versions including Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and Dynamics AX, in the cloud or on premises.
Do we have to buy Salesforce API access?
No. Rapidi is Salesforce certified, so a Pro Suite organisation can be integrated without buying Salesforce API access separately.
What data does the standard template move?
Accounts to customers, contacts to contact persons, products, prices, opportunities to sales orders, orders, posted sales invoices and credit memos back to Salesforce as sales history, customer transactions as payments, and attachments. Any other object, standard or custom, can be added in any direction.
Does the data move both ways?
Yes. Rapidi reads Dynamics 365 Finance and writes to it over OData, inserting and updating records, and the direction is chosen object by object.
Can one Salesforce org serve several Finance legal entities?
Yes. The standard template supports several Finance companies and currencies from the start. Rapidi uses one connection per company, and a Legal Entity field on the Salesforce account decides where each customer belongs.
How often does the data sync?
On a schedule you set per object: daily, hourly, every 10 minutes, every minute or triggered, depending on the subscription plan.
Do we need to open our firewall for on-premise Dynamics 365 Finance?
No. The RapidiConnector sits inside your network and uses one outbound port, with no fixed IP addresses and no inbound ports. Traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or 1.3. Finance in the cloud connects directly over OData.
Do we have to add fields to Dynamics 365 Finance?
No. The pairing between records is held in Rapidi's link storage. Publishing the timestamp field on the data entities you integrate is recommended, so only changes move. Salesforce gets a few fields, such as the Finance order number on the opportunity.
Is our data stored on Rapidi servers?
No. Data is processed end point to end point in memory. No customer data is stored on any Rapidi server, configuration data is stored encrypted, and the logs record every schedule and transfer without holding customer data.
Does the sales team need a Dynamics 365 Finance licence?
Usually not. Sales works in Salesforce, the order goes to Dynamics 365 Finance automatically, and the Sales History App shows invoices, orders and payments on the account, so most users do not need both licences.
