Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central-Dynamics 365 Sales Integration
Direct integration between Dynamics 365 Sales and Business Central, so sales and finance work from the same customers, products, orders and invoices. Configured on screen, not written in code, and supported by the people who built it.
Automate the order to cash process
Connect Dynamics 365 Sales with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to move orders, keep customer accounts aligned, and send finance data back to the CRM. Customers, contacts, opportunities, items, prices, sales orders, posted sales invoices and credit memos are in the standard template.
Send won deals to Business Central
A deal closed in Dynamics 365 Sales becomes a sales order in Business Central. Nobody keys the same order into both systems.
Keep customer accounts in step
Accounts, customers and contacts sync both ways, so a customer created or changed on one side is created or changed on the other.
Return orders and invoices to the CRM
Sales orders, posted sales invoices and credit memos come back from Business Central to Dynamics 365 Sales, so the account shows what was ordered and what was billed.
What you can integrate
These objects are mapped in the standard template. Any table can be integrated in any direction.

Get the template
You start from the template built for this pair rather than a blank canvas. Point Rapidi at your Dynamics 365 Sales environment and your Business Central company, then map the fields your business actually uses on screen. Add or remove fields, custom fields included, and switch off the parts of the standard you do not need.
Integration features
Built for one pair of systems rather than assembled from a toolkit, and specified so a technical buyer can qualify it before the first call.
Pre-built pair template
A template built for Dynamics 365 Sales and Business Central specifically, not a generic connector you assemble yourself. Customers, contacts, opportunities, items, prices, sales orders, posted invoices and credit memos are mapped before you start, and the template comes free with your Rapidi subscription.
Per-object timing
Transfers run in schedules you set: daily, hourly, every 10 minutes, every minute or triggered, depending on your subscription. Each schedule also sets the order its transfers run in and who is notified.
Reads and writes over OData
Rapidi reads and writes both Dynamics 365 Sales and Business Central over OData, including insert, update and delete. Data moves both ways rather than one system dictating to the other.
Failed transfer reporting
When a transfer hits an error, Rapidi emails you. The log keeps detailed information about every schedule and transfer run, and no customer data. You find out from the log, not from a customer.
Reaches systems inside your network
Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales in Microsoft's cloud connect directly over OData. For an on-premise installation, or an Azure instance you control, the RapidiConnector sits inside your network, so neither system is opened to the internet.
Access through your own Azure app
Rapidi signs in to Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales with OAuth2 through an app you register in your own Microsoft Entra ID, formerly Azure AD, with admin consent and a client secret you create and control.
Two Microsoft systems, set up to work together
Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales are separate products, and buying both does not connect them. The standard template is designed to change as little as possible in either system.
- No extra fields are needed in Business Central or in Dynamics 365 Sales. The pairing between records is held in Rapidi's Link Storage.
- Publish the system audit fields, the timestamps, in Business Central, so they can act as source control and only new and changed records move.
- Salesperson codes in Business Central are matched to record owners in Dynamics 365 Sales through a lookup, with a default owner when there is no match.
- Units of measure land in Dynamics 365 Sales unit groups. Create the unit group first, then the units you plan to use.
- Alternate keys defined in Dynamics 365 Sales can serve as the key fields on a transfer, which helps when the other system does not store Dynamics record IDs.
- Microsoft's own Business Central and Dataverse connector works from a predefined list of tables and fields, needs Dataverse and runs in the cloud only. Rapidi maps any table or field and connects Business Central online or on premises.
Quick facts about the solution
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Dynamics 365 | All versions supported, cloud and on-premise, including legacy versions such as NAV and CRM. |
| Data transfer | Data is SSL encrypted, packed and compressed by the RapidiConnector. |
| Dynamics 365 Sales API and access | OData for read and write, including insert, update and delete, with OAuth2 (Azure AD) sign-in. |
| Business Central API and access | OData for read and write, including insert, update and delete, with OAuth2 sign-in through Microsoft Entra ID. |
| Security | Encryption follows the current TLS standards, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 preferred. |
| IP address and firewall | No fixed IP addresses, and no inbound ports opened on your firewall. |
| RapidiConnector | Connects an on-premise Business Central or Dynamics 365 Sales with your Rapidi service, then compresses, packs and SSL encrypts the data. |
| Read design | One click reads the database design, so any table or field can be synchronised. |
| StoreNewID and Link Storage | Pair synchronised records across the two databases, so neither system needs extra reference fields. |
| New or modified data only | Timestamps where tables carry them, and Mirror technology where they do not, so only new and changed data moves. |
| Transfer frequency | Daily, hourly, 10 minutes, 1 minute, or triggered, depending on subscription level. |
| Advanced data toolbox | Excel-syntax formulas to align formats and field structures. Ready-made formulas ship in the standard templates. |
| Log and notification | An email when a data transfer hits an error, and a log of every schedule and transfer run, with no customer data. |
| AI agent | Albert, the Rapidi AI agent, assists with your integration setup and can perform tasks on it. |

Security and deployment
Your systems are never exposed to the outside world.
- Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales in Microsoft's cloud connect directly over OData. An on-premise installation, or an Azure instance you control, goes through the RapidiConnector, which sits inside your network and compresses, packs and encrypts data before it leaves.
- Encryption follows the current TLS standards, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 preferred. You can use your own SSL certificate.
- One outbound port. No fixed IP addresses, and no inbound ports opened on your firewall.
- Data is processed end point to end point in memory. No customer data is stored on any Rapidi server, and configuration data is stored encrypted.
- Rapidi monitors your setup and contacts you when a server stops responding or invalid data is being exchanged.
- The connector protocol strips metadata and sends compressed binary, cutting data volume by up to a factor of 50: roughly 20 bytes per customer record instead of 1000.

Frequently asked questions
Which Dynamics 365 Sales and Business Central versions does the integration support?
Dynamics 365 Sales, plus Dynamics CRM 2016, 2015, 2013 and 2011, with older versions on request. On the ERP side, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV versions back to 3.56, in Microsoft's cloud, on premises or in an Azure instance you control.
Are Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales not already connected?
No. They are separate Microsoft products, and buying both does not connect them. Microsoft's own Business Central and Dataverse connector works from a predefined list of tables and fields and needs Dataverse. Rapidi maps any table or field, custom ones included, and also connects Business Central on premises.
What data does the standard template move?
Accounts and customers, contacts, items to products, item prices to product prices, opportunities to sales orders, sales orders back to Dynamics 365 Sales, and posted sales invoices and credit memos as invoices. Any other object, standard or custom, can be added in any direction.
Does the data move both ways?
Yes, object by object. Accounts, customers and contacts sync both ways. Items, prices, sales orders, posted invoices and credit memos go from Business Central to Dynamics 365 Sales, and won opportunities become sales orders in Business Central. Rapidi reads and writes both systems over OData.
How often does the data sync?
On schedules you set: daily, hourly, every 10 minutes, every minute or triggered, depending on the subscription plan.
Do we need to open our firewall for on-premise Business Central?
No. The RapidiConnector sits inside your network and uses one outbound port, with no fixed IP addresses and no inbound ports. Traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or 1.3. Business Central online connects directly over OData.
Do we have to add fields to Business Central or Dynamics 365 Sales?
No. The pairing between records is held in Rapidi's Link Storage, so neither system needs extra fields. Publishing the system audit fields in Business Central is recommended, so only new and changed records move.
Is our data stored on Rapidi servers?
No. Data is processed end point to end point in memory. No customer data is stored on any Rapidi server, configuration data is stored encrypted, and the logs record every schedule and transfer without holding customer data.
What happens when a transfer fails?
Rapidi emails you when a data transfer hits an error, and the log shows the detail of the run. Rapidi also monitors your setup and contacts you when a server stops responding or invalid data is being exchanged.
Does the sales team need a Business Central licence?
Often not. Sales works in Dynamics 365 Sales, and the customers, products, orders and invoices they need come across from Business Central, so users may not need a licence for both systems.
We are moving from Salesforce to Dynamics 365 Sales. Does our Rapidi integration move with us?
Yes. Moving from Salesforce to Dynamics 365 Sales, or from Dynamics NAV to Business Central, usually means reconfiguring your current Rapidi setup rather than starting again.
